This is a very old book but a very important one.  Carl F. H. Henry’s importance to the development of Modern American Christianity and its views on the world cannot be overemphasized.  Henry, writing from the conservative side of the church spectrum,  influenced a whole generation of pastors and scholars that Christianity could not be kept to ourselves, but that we should be involved in a caring witness to the world.  It was not enough to simply win people to Christ,  we must model Christ’s compassion to a bleeding and hurting world.
